The best car for middle class India in this segment, particularly young and joyful youth. When compared to foreign brands this vehicle doesn't let you down because of its new appearance and upgradation. It is really shaped well with newly added features and comforts. I don't know why Maruti didn't give proper add of this super refined vehicle. The engine is very smooth & silent, great pick-up, no vibrations at high speed, no jerksoscillation on uneven surface, no cheap plastic interiors, excellent mileage, very spacious and comfortable seating with good leg room. The cooling is superb and the driving is enjoyable. Overall, it is a price worth and amazing hatchback. If you have passion in driving the vehicles then you really prefer Maruti ritz. Finally, kudos to vehicle designers and technicians for bringing a perfect vehicle in India.

Hi Friends, We had bought Ritz zdi in July-13 and crossed 1500 Km in one month and I am sharing my experience. We had Alto K10 previously and due to my every day 60Km running We had to opt for a diesel engine. As We were using Maruti and fully satisfied with K10 it was my default decision to upgrade to maruti brand vehicle. Before buying ritz many vehicle came in mind i20, vista, figo, micra etc but due to maruti service of our reviewers recommend us and exchange given by them my mind used to stick on maruti because swift was a hot cake selling product even till now. So we kept our mind on swift but suddenly as we went to showroom for enquirng swift we had a glance of ritz zdi beside the swift vdi as both were ready for delivery in acer motors in hyderabad. As we already knew that swift and ritz are of same fiat engine and succesful in market we thought to give a look on new ritz zdi also as it was looking more handsome from front due to its grill change in front and we liked the new grill look. But that was not enough. I and my wife thought to go on more micro level comparison. First we had a test drive and things liked and desliked after comparision of both cars 1) Swift sitting position was the same like k10 which we felt but ritz was very clearly visible 2) Swift was not that spacious as compared to ritz 3) Riding quality of our reviewers recommend us of both was same and good, swift was more smooth than ritz(but you cannot judge on only riding because we were looking to buy car of our reviewers recommend us looking to our family needs) As Ritz Zdi has driver seat and steering adjustment if you increase its seating positon you feel like you are riding a junior innova 4)Ritz boot space back seat and even front seat more spacious than swift 5) Ritz gear was on higher level easy for changing gears 6) exterior we liked ritz front but back still not satisfied due to its bulky in back bumper, on exterior front swift is the best compared to any car in these segment 7)As our requirement was mainly of interior space, fiat diesel engine and decent looks and even around Rs1lakh lesser than swift zdi we selected ritz zdi and booked and bought next week ritz zdi as we got good exchange for our current K10atlo model through acer motors at good price One good thing is after shifting from petrol to diesel model there was no huge difference in riding quality and we were very happy with it and our family was very happy looking into its interior seating and comfortable riding even when you cross 90KM/hr because in alto k10 if you cross 80k is starts to show its signs due to it small engine We bought ritz top end version because our old vehicle was Altok10 lxi model and we had to spend extra for other fitting as it was basic model. so this time we decided to buy top end model as it comes with every fitting and there is no need to spend any more penny from our pocket except for seat covers, and we are now very much satisfied as our family and even friends who were opposing for ritz first instead of swift are now satisfied because ritz zdi is the model were maruti has done many changes in looks and even in interior and the colour is superior white which has to be maintained regularly but it looks very good so we went for it Long Drive Completed 7500 Km after 6 months. Went to Bangalore in Dec-13 and covered 1250Km drive to and fro in 3 days. Highway drive was awesome with family. Touched max 160 km for few minutes were roads was empty. Maintained 100 to 130Km/Hr during Hyd-Bangalore highway ride. Average @17/km with Ac, had been better if I were below 100km speed, will try to maintain in next highway drive because 1st drive due to thrill went at that speed. And i20 on highway the only other vehicle impressed me on highway ride(After all it’s the costliest car in these segment).I would say Ritz is far better than swift to drive on highways. Will update more after crossing 10k.

This is my review after owning the car for around 2 years. Will be giving a very practical and personal experience review.
My requirement before buying this car was:
    1. Spacious cabin.
    2. Good ride and handling.
    3. Good Mileage.
    (A) Service Cost:
Car has been serviced around 4 times now. Good thing about K-series engines are they do not need an oil change until 15000kms. Which is just amazing and value add. Have spent probably 3000 Rs till date on service. Oil change only once so saves a lot of money. Service experience has been good.
    (B) Comfort and space:
Very comfortable to sit for a tall person like me.Have done long journeys in this and must say the comfort is too good. Don’t feel tired even after continuous journey. This is from drivers as well as passenger perspective.5 can seat comfortably.
You can keep 2 big one liter bottles in the door which is very helpful during long drives. In the back seat cover pocket you can put 2 more bottles as well. Always can carry 4 liters of water with comfort.
The glove box is good enough. What I love is the cup holders near handbrake, you can fit in a half liter bottle there as well and keep your phone for charge. On top of dashboard you have again a small glove-box kinds to keep tickets or change or CDS or cloth. Under the co-driver seat there is an under-seat tray to put some stuff as well.
Boot space is good enough. 60/40 split seats helps a lot if you have 4 passengers and huge luggage to take. Just fold one seat and dump luggage there.
    (C) Handling:
Handling in straight lines is good and very stable and planted. Cornering dont expect a toll boy design to simply cruise through the corners at top speed, however must say in corners also feels planted at average speeds.
    (D) Engine power and response:
Mid range of this is just amazing to play with. Good power to play around. Even with 5 seated in the car has a good pull, never feel under powered. Top speed I have touched in this is 170 kmph during journey from Bangalore to Davangere on highway. It feels very planted on straight line speeds. So absolute pleasure to drive on highways.
    (E) Mileage:
For speeds above 100 on highways it returns a mileage of 14 to 15 with AC. Speeds between 80 to 90 the best I got from this car is 16.7kmpl with AC on highways. In city driving it returns a healthy 15 to 16kmpl without miss.

Maruti Ritz was first shown at Delhi Auto Expo in 2008 and it was launched in 2009 to capture the customers who do not want to get caught in the long waiting lines to buy Swift and has to opt for other hatchbacks. And the plan seemed to work in the favour of Maruti as Ritz got a good response from the customers as well as from the dealers. Recently, Maruti has made some modifications in Ritz to keep it running in the competition with other hatchbacks of its segment.
Maruti Ritz has a beautiful, elegant and yet unique exterior which includes a medium-sized angular bonnet with edgy lines to give it a V-shape and has extended front headlights, stylish front bumper, trendy surrounded fog lights, long and extended sporty front grille with number plate dividing the air dam on it and with Suzuki logo in the center, long and deep nose, 14-inch alloy wheels, huge wheel arches extending from front bonnet till rear bumper, body colored door handles and outside mirrors in top model, roof high at front which slopes down at rear, wide rear hips with long tail lights and trendy rear glass and wiper in boot gate.
The interior of this hatchback has a premium look with dual tone colors inside, blue colored seats, silver finished inside door handles, fully fabricated stuffing, waterfall inspired central console, three spoke adjustable steering wheel with audio controls and gear knob same as before. As for the comfort of the passengers, it has adjustable front and rear headrests, height adjustable driver seat, tilt-able power steering, electrically adjustable outside rear view mirrors, large space for rear knee room, easily understandable instrument cluster with separately placed trendy round tachometer, powerful AC with heater, Multi Information Display on instrument panel and power windows on all four doors and central locking in top model.
Maruti Ritz also has a highly textured, dual toned, partly blue, long and highly spacious dashboard with AC vents, silver finished V-shaped waterfall central console, oval white speedometer, glove box with storage space, a big storage tray under the front passenger seat and a parcel tray at rear, door pockets and back pockets on front seats. It has a small boot capacity of 178 litres which can however be extended by folding the rear seats. The top model has a quality music system integrated with central console with radio and CD player, four powerful speakers and a 12V accessory socket. The new diesel variant also has a USB port in it.
Maruti Ritz has two engine options: The 1197cc 1.2L K12M petrol engine has a maximum power of 84 bhp at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 113 Nm at 4500 rpm giving the top speed of 175 kmph and reaches 0-100 kmph mark in less than 14 seconds. It gives a mileage of 13-14 kmpl in the cities and around 16 kmpl on the highways. The 1248cc 1.3L four cylinder DDiS Diesel engine generates a maximum power of 74 bhp at 4000 rpm and a maximum torque of 190 Nm at 2000 rpm giving the top speed of 180 kmph and reaches 0-100 kmph mark in 15-16 seconds. It gives a mileage of 16 kmpl in the cities and 20 kmpl on the highways. Both these engines are mated to five speed manual gearbox. Ritz has a good and high seating position for driver and a high ground clearance of 170 mm saves you from the potholes of Indian roads while 4.7m of minimum turning radius gives a certain freedom in the over-crowded cities and in parking. It is equipped with disk brakes at front and drum brakes at rear. Its suspension is McPherson strut with coil spring in front and torsion beam with coil spring in rear. Also, for the safety of the passengers, it has ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Dual front Airbags and iCATS immobilizer.
Maruti Ritz is available in eight beautiful shades which are Superior White, Bakers Chocolate, New Breeze Blue, Silky Silver, New Granite Grey, New Mystique Red, Midnight Black and New Racing Green. It has a price range in between INR 4.29-6.39 lakhs (approx., may vary). It comes with a warranty of 2 years or 40,000kms whatever comes earlier and it can also be extended further if you want to. Overall, this hatchback is a fine blend of power, style, performance, speed, comfort, safety and price. With the brand name of Maruti behind it, it also supposed to have good resale value and low maintenance cost..
